Welcome to Ready for Ten

Ready for Ten is a parent-powered website for mums and dads of 6-9 year olds. It’s a place to connect with other parents and share advice and support on the highs, lows, and uncharted territory of the years before ten.

Six, seven, eight, nine

For kids, these years are filled with new skills to master and different ways to exercise a growing sense of independence. There are adventures to be had and boundaries to be explored as kids start to become their own people.

Yet for all that happens in the years before ten, there’s an information gap for parents.
Most parenting resources focus on the baby and toddler years, or the ‘tween and teen years. Finding support and advice can be incredibly time-consuming, especially when you’ve got a busy child to keep you on your toes.

Fruit Shoot has created Ready for Ten to fill this gap. It’s a free resource for mums and dads – a place to exchange ideas and gather tips on how to get the most out of the 6-9 years.

Why Fruit Shoot?

As the leading UK kids brand, Fruit Shoot is a dedicated champion of the 6-9 age group.

Last year Fruit Shoot launched a new initiative to help kids get active and learn new skills. These activities were very popular with kids – so much so that this year, in addition to running all sorts of skills activities for kids, Fruit Shoot is also offering something for parents: Ready for Ten.

Ready for Ten is a conversation space where mums and dads can share the load and get sympathetic, peer-to-peer advice from other people who have been there, too. It isn’t an advertising forum, nor is it a site for kids. It’s a place for parents to share the information and support they need to raise happy, healthy, active kids.

We’re about conversation and advice, not advertising

Dedicated support from a like-minded community

Ready for Ten brings together the best online parenting resources in two ways: through blog posts and a Twitter stream.

Blog posts are written by parents and by experts in the world of 6-9 year olds. They cover a range of topics, including kids’ activities, learning and food. All blog posts have comment threads where parents can offer opinions and share their own stories and ideas.

The Twitter stream brings together the best articles, links and reviews from around the web. It’s a real-time conversation that reflects what real parents are talking about, and it’s easy to join -- just follow Ready for Ten (@readyforten) on Twitter.
