I love this park! It's just stunning and very well done but really playgrounds needs updating. Some water play area would be a great bonus for children, like also some coffee for parents.
-
Please vote for this, as this excellent and well used and well loved park deserves it.

Come on Sydenham. Vote for your local park!

the park itself is very pretty but as several people have commented the playground is unsafe for children

I've just become a mother and would love to have a great play area on our doorstep. As things stand when the time comes I'd be more likely to go farther afield for play areas - it would be fabulous if Sydenham Wells were upgraded for all those in the same boat.
-
Wells Park is stunning - and congrats to the Council and their contractors for all they do to keep it so - but the playground badly needs upgrading.
-
We go to the park regularly and would love to see more facilities for children so they can play safely.

The park is beautiful but the playground lets it down. It's a big space but not very interesting and getting rather tatty. It's also not that accessible to those with mobility problems, to get from the water play area to the zip wire and climbing frame you'd have to go out of the playground and round the path, as there's a vertical drop or steps between the 2 sections. The water play area is great fun but last summer several of the squirty bits no longer worked, and there are lots of rough edges for the kids to hurt their feet on. Please can we have a lovely playground to match the lovely park so we can have an all round lovely day out.

Our local park is an absolute jewel and we love it to bits, but it is getting very run down. Please vote, vote, vote, for us!

Visited this lovely park many times as a child when I lived in Peak Hill with my parents. Many ancestors of mine lived in the immediate area and probably used the park with their children.
A truly nice park that is a bit down on its luck at present.
Come on Robinsons - Sydenham Wells Park needs your help !

My wee girl really likes the park but the toddlerss playground is a bit tame for her & the older kids' one a bit tatty.
The fountain feature never ceases to amuse her and she also loves checking out the ducks & geese & other wildlife, flora and fauna.
For me it is a beautifully tranquil oasis of calm and the time we spenmd there together will live with me forever. Hope we get a result for you/us.
Boa Sorte!

Having recently joined the wonderful world of parenthood I now seem to spend a lovely amount of time in the outdoors enjoying some great green spaces in SE23 and around. As my daughter gets older and begins to enjoy more than just swings it would be great for this park to have some new equipment to entertain her and her playmates in a great safe and fun environment near our home

My son has grown up now but we made such good use of the park during his childhood years. We used the park even before we lived nearby. My son is now 24 and, like Rebecca, I am amazed that the equipment for older children has not been (noticeably) refurbished, let alone replaced, in all that time. The park is swarming with families in the school holidays and it would be fabulous for older children to have better facilities. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for them.

Let's not forget the adults. Yes, for a regeneration of childrens areas, but keep in mind the many elderly people who just like to sit in a beautiful environment. Seating areas -perhaps suitable for picnics or laying out the paper to read. Maybe a fantasy, but being able to get a good coffee would be wonderful!
