Morley Road Park

Our park is popular with local families even though the play area needs urgent renovation. It consists of 4 swings and 2 small metal climbing frames. We would like a modular climbing unit and balance bars to appeal to a larger cross section of ages.

My sons love playing footie at the Morley Road playground but it could offer SO much more!
Hardly surprising, but I've never seen the playground used! Let's change that.......

Sandrock FC supports the plans to make the kids play area more exiting. We are the football team that uses the pitch in Morley Road park on Sundays. Many players have kids who want to come with Dad, but like the others said, they get bored with the play area in about 5 minutes.
Who knows, we might get some more people who come so see us play (we are pretty good), if they can park their kids safely at the same time. -
The better the playground the more fresh air and exercise our girls get, so it would be excellent to update this very tired playground which has huge potential for the whole community. fingers crossed.

Good playgrounds are so valuable to families with young children. Great places for children to meet with their friends and parents to meet up with other parents. They feel safe and secure. Lets make Morley Road one of these! Good luck!

Hi there, i'm so pleased to see that you were shorltisted. I live the other side of town in Hale but was really keen to see you guys go through. I work in the play sector in Hampshire in a strategic role, I have just commissioned the last of £240K in Playbuilder Grants to 5 sites in Hampshire amongst other various projects too. I work alongside Play England too. I may be able to help ypou get a discount on your site too so that you could add in some more kit.
I would be happy to come and give you guys a point in the right direction if you need any more help. I also have a toolkit handbook that is very good to help communities enhance play spaces, it helps you make it everyone's business! Let me know please if you would like a copy or few and I will get them sent to you. -
This play area is very grim compared to the others in the town. It's convenient for lots of parents and near to a nursery and junior school. I'm sure it would get lots of after school use if it was a bit more interesting.

I am a local mum with two children and this is our nearest playground. Unfortunately it is not appealing and we always go to Gostrey Meadow. It would be great if this playground had a makeover as I am sure many local families would meet here!

This quiet, safe and secluded park could be a wonderful little oasis. The 'playground' is unappealing and bordering on the dangerous at times. Both my kids learnt to ride their bikes on the footpath around the edge but it is more like an off-road course! The Football pitch is always muddy when wet and like a dust bowl when dry. I think it's seclusion has also been its downfall - out of sight, out of mind. It's such a shame as, if improved, this little park would be so popular with the local community which is full of families with young kids. Relay the path and install a modern and safe playgound area and Morley Road Park would become a hub for the local community.

We live around the corner from Morley Park and it is a great space to have available. BUT at the moment for my kids 6 and 3 thats all it is, they can ride their bikes and scooters or kick a ball around but the play area has no appeal at all. A makeover of this area would make this a much more popular place to play.

I agree with everything that has already been said. This is a great little area for kids to play safely - and my daughter has spent many happy times there with friends. However, the play equipment is a very sorry sight indeed - it looks outdated, dirty and very uninviting. At a time when we should all be encouraging our children to get out and burn up some energy, this seems to be such a shame. The park is uniquely positioned between many local infant and primary schools, and has the potential with some investment to play an even more important role in the local community. A great cause.

While this is a convinient local park to us with lots of space for ball games and a great "scooter" circuit the playground is on its last legs. The playground urgently needs a makeover to bring it up to modern day standards and mnake kids want to play in it once more. A very worthy cause indeed!

This is our closest park/playground. It is a shame that it is so neglected! Local parents/children need to venture across the dreadful by-pass or drive to the ridgeway for the next playground. Not ideal and certainly not fair when a fantastic playground is just by our doorstep.

Please renovate our park, my family use it all the time and it is great space we have built snowmen, had picnics and tried to play on the equipment but that is a difficult thing to do and the type of equipment stiffles the imagination.
It is a great place to meet up with friends and neighbours both planned and as a lovely surprise but it would be good to enhance it to bring it up to date and preserve the sense of community it brings. -
I live on Morley Road and my family and I use the park for cycling, football and cricket in the summer, it would be fantastic if there was a play area with swings etc in this area of Farnham as it is surrounded by young families so it would be really well utilised.
