Morley Road Park

Our park is popular with local families even though the play area needs urgent renovation. It consists of 4 swings and 2 small metal climbing frames. We would like a modular climbing unit and balance bars to appeal to a larger cross section of ages.

Ever since i learnt how to ride in Morley road recreation ground,it has been close to my heart.A place to play and enjoy the summers day,a place to gather for a game of football or just a place to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The playground therefore should be renovated to ensure future generations can enjoy the lovely surroundings and tranquility. So that they can enjoy what i enjoyed long ago. Playing in a brilliant playground which would impress any child.A tennis court would be an added bonus i must. Please renovate our one and only Morley park recreation ground.A safe place to play for everyone.

This playground is in a fab location but the play equipment is so uninspiring to my 3 year old twins, that they do not want to go and play here.
It would be brilliant to see this playground get the upgrade that it deserves so that all the local children could enjoy it and make more use of this area.

Compared to latest in playgrounds - which really stimulate kids and develop balance and co-ordination - , Morley road really is pretty uninspiring. With kids getting obese and introverted from too much XBox, it'shigh time every kid had access to a decent playground.

A decent play area is important in so many ways for a childs development and it's not just about getting fit. Its a space which can harness their imagination, get their creative juices flowing, to gain skills in social interaction, to make friends, develop coordination, foster a love of the outdoors and of adventure and, perhaps most importantly, a place to just have fun after a full day at school.
Currently the only thing this play area will inspire is a wish to run home and sit in front of the tv with a bag of crisps.
With so many young children and growing families in the area a redesign of the play area is so needed. I don't want my son to be a couch potato I want him to be fit and healthy. Please support this good cause.

The park on Morley Road serves hundreds of local children and yet the play equipment is feeble both in terms of what children can do to further their physical development and stimulate their imagination. About a mile away, another playground got a great make-over and as a consequence it is buzzing with the sound of children playing. It would be great to see the same happen to our local playground and it would be great if some of the equipment was accessible to children who have physical needs such as wheel-chair users like the playground I have already mentioned.

I am the Manager of Starfish Children's Day Nursery, and our children love nothing more than going on walks to the local attractions; the park and the train station being their favourites! Unfortunatley in order for us to visit a well equipped and attractive park, we need to cross a very busy road and walk for 15 minutes with our little ones.
It would be wonderful if we only needed to cross 1 quiet road and walk for no more than 5 minutes; this is the case at Morley Road Park but without the equipment for our children. A soft grounded area with roundabouts, swings, secret hide aways, and climbing equipment would attract not only our children, but those in the surrounding areas.
With all our fingers crossed...... Starfish Nursery! x

With two young children - we live very close to the park but more often than not find ourselves walking or driving to other Farnham parks which is a shame given Morley Road is right on our door step. For sure we would use the park more if the play area receives some welcome investment.

I am a local mum with 4 children ranging from 10 down to 18 months.
It seems such a waste having such a large beautiful recreation ground with no equipment for the children to play on. My youngest is happy to swing but the other 3 are totally bored when we go there as they isnt anything to do unless we take our bikes or scooters. Adding play equipment to the park will still leave ample room for bikes and scooters and for children/adults to kick a ball around.
We really need a good decent play area local for our children.

I visit my daughter and her family and know that the play-ground needs care and attention. I also know that there are lots of children living on the same street as my daughter and two primary schools in the area.
My grand-son would spend lots of time in the play-ground if it looked a bit more attractive. Unfortunately, if there is no renovation carried out, it is likely that it will be closed down for safety reasons and never re-opened.

We've 4 young kids and live very close to this park. It is a hidden treasure and it would be so great if it was given a re-vamp. We walk past this park on the way to and from school. In the Summer we often stop of there to play, but not in the swing park. We take our own balls and bats etc.. as it has a lovely flat space for playing. All of our children have learnt to ride their bikes there as it's got a great flat path all around the perimeter .It would be fantastic if the swing park was re-done, it would breathe new life into this area of the park and would make it a really popular place to go for local families.

Morley Road Park has been neglected and lacking in facilities for too many years and an opportunity to provide the local community with a valuable recreational facility would be fantastic. Children love nothing better than being outside, playing with their friends, in a stimulating fun and safe environment.

The current facilities hold little or no appeal to children of any age.

Please support us and bring Morley Road Rec into the 21st Century.

We lived near this park for 10years until recently. Sadly, the main times we ever used it was for the space that the grass offers and the flatness of the path which runs around the periphery which is ideal for scooters and bikes. We would however come back and bring friends and picnics if there was enough to keep them amused - there are certainly alot of local children who would really benefit from this safe treelined park receiving some investment and TLC. The children were always disappointed by the play area facilities complete with peeling paint and the ferociousness of the metal gates which caught little fingers on many occasions! The play area could be so much better if moved away from the far corner, brought out into the sunshine and extended to provide exciting and varied equipment for a wider age range. Anything to tempt them away from TVs and computer games and stimulate their imagination. Please support this!

This really is the most uninspiring play area for children. Our nephews (6 & 4yrs)stayed recently and were distinctly unimpressed with the lack of exciting equipment. Within 5 mins of arriving we instead made the long trek across the dual carriageway to the park in the centre of town so they could actually have some fun. What a huge shame when this park is on our doorstep. In the year we have lived here I can't recall ever seeing children play in the playground.
The area is bursting with children (I think 28 on our street alone) all of whom would get so much enjoyment from a local play park. Please support us...!

We love this park, my 2 girls and I are up there alot and we'd be there alot more if the equipment was better. As it is we have to walk across a very busy A road to get to the nearest park, or get in the car.

We'd love to be able to use this fantastic community park more.

This park could be a fantastic place for the local community if the play equipment was more inspiring and looked safer to use! You only need to look at the other parks in the area to see how much local families appreciate the facilities and the enjoyment they bring. However from this area you would have to cross busy roads to get to the other parks either in Searle Road or Gostry Meadow.
As has been said before the area is predominantly populated by familes, there are several schools in the area and the local nurseries and playgroups would probably use the park for outings if it was more inspiring. The surrounding field would be well used for summer picnics for families and their visiting friends and the park could become a real destination for the local Farnham area. Please support the regeneration of this park to build on the family friendliness of Farnham.
