Robinsons Fruit Shoot – Parents for Playgrounds – Ready for Ten

Rules & Regulations for Robinsons Fruit Shoot’s Parents for Playgrounds campaign 2011:

  1. Robinsons Fruit Shoot is asking parents around the country to nominate an existing playground that they think is in need of renovation. The winning playgrounds of this campaign will each receive up to a £15,000 bursary to renovate their playgrounds, the playground and the parent that nominated the playground will feature on the Ready for Ten website and will be involved in PR activity associated with the Parents for Playgrounds campaign. Parents can enter the campaign by nominating a playground that they think needs money for renovations to be made to it and all nominations need to be registered at www.readyforten.com. There are up to 5 play area bursaries available of up to £15,000 each.
  2. A “playground” is defined as any space, area or place where children can play outdoors. It is at the discretion of the Promoter to determine the entry criteria of a “playground” and the feasibility of the renovations falling within the £15,000 budget and whether the owner of that playground is sufficiently equipped to manage the renovations alongside Play England and Britvic.
  3. The promotion is open to all residents of the UK and Northern Ireland aged 18 years or over, except for employees and their immediate families of Britvic Soft Drinks Limited, their agents, or anyone else professionally connected to the promotion.

TO ENTER:

  1. There is one method of entry into the promotion – online via the Ready for Ten website between 15th February and 16th March 2011 – www.readyforten.com. Entry into the promotion is free.
  2. To enter a playground that needs renovations into Parents for Playgrounds, parents can either select a playground from an existing list of playgrounds or nominate a playground that is not on the existing list. If a playground is nominated that is not on the existing list, parents are required to answer all of the entry criteria questions on the Ready for Ten website and upload an image of the playground they are nominating, if they have one. All entrants must supply a daytime contact phone number and email address.
  3. Entry is via the dedicated Parents for Playgrounds section on the Ready for Ten website www.readyforten.com. At the point of playground no mination, whether through the existing list or through entering their own, a parent will be asked to explain why they think their playground deserves to win one of the renovation bursaries. Parents who nominate their own playground will also be asked to supply as much information on the playground as possible, including whether the land owner of the playground is aware and happy that the playground has been nominated and what work they believe needs to be done to the playground. If the playground is short-listed, the parent that nominates the playground and the land owner, may have to take part in PR activity around the renovations, and this may affect the selection process.
  4. At point of entry all entrants will need to confirm that they are happy to be contacted if further information is needed on their nominated playground.
  5. A playground can only be nominated once.

THE JUDGING PROCESS:

  1. Judging of nomination entries entered into the promotion will follow a 2 stage process.

Stage 1:

  1. Once the period during which entries can be submitted has passed, all authorised nominations entered into the promotion will be entered into Stage 1 of the judging process. During Stage 1, the Promoters with the help of Patsy Kensit and Play England will make a short-list of the top nominations. The short-list will be made up of the nominations that the Promoters, Patsy Kensit and Play England consider to be the playgrounds that are most in need of renovation, factoring in planning permission, community consultation and feasibility of renovation developments.
  2. The short-listed nomination entries will be posted in a viewing area on the Ready for Ten website at the end of March 2011. Entrants who have submitted nominations will receive an email at this time confirming whether their nominated playground has been short-listed for inclusion on the Ready for Ten website. Those that have not been short-listed will not be notified.
  3. Those entrants who have nominated a short-listed playground may be contacted by the Promoters at this time with requests for information/documentation which will help the Promoters ascertain how feasible it will be to renovate the nominated playground. This may include a consultation period. If the entrant of a short-listed play area is unwilling or unable to accommodate requests for information/documentation made by the Promoter at this stage for whatever reason, it may be necessary for the Promoter to withdraw the entrant’s nomination from the short-list.
  4. Entrants whose nominated playground has been short-listed may also be contacted by the Promoters at this time to confirm that they are happy to be featured in PR activity relating to the ‘Parents for Playgrounds’ short-list. In the case that they are contacted for this reason, entrants will need to provide the Promoters with written consent, as this may affect the decision process. Promotional activity may include interviews and photography with national and regional newspapers, magazines, websites, radio and TV stations. Shortlisted entrants will be asked to approve any press releases or images before they are issued to media. Written consent from entrants will be required within 48 hours in order for the promotional activity to go ahead.
  5. Entrants whose nomination has been short-listed will be able to withdraw their nomination from the promotion at this stage if they wish by writing to Hannah Ryan, 20 Soho Square, London W1A 1PR, or by emailing hannah.ryan@hillandknowlton.com, or by calling 020 7973 4425.

Stage 2:

  1. During Stage 2 of the judging process, the public will vote on the short-listed nominations featured on the Ready for Ten website.
  2. Up to 5 nomination entries with the highest number of votes once voting has closed will be the winning playgrounds and each playground will be granted up to £15,000 for renovations that it will agree to before the money is paid.

VOTING:

  1. The public voting period will be from the end of March until the end of April 2011 and specific dates and times of voting opening and closing will be specified clearly on www.readyforten.com once all nominations have been received. Short-listed nominations will be available to view and vote on at www.readyforten.com during this period. After the specified date and time, votes may still be cast but will not be counted.
  2. Each short-listed entry nomination featured on the Ready for Ten website will be allocated a “vote” button which members of the public will need to click in order to vote for that nomination.
  3. Short-listed entrants will be able to rally support in their local community and encourage others to vote for the playground they have nominated.
  4. The public will be asked to vote based on the playground they think needs the grant for renovation the most.
  5. Members of the public will be able to cast 3 votes. However, they will only be able to vote for each nomination once. Voting is free.

THE WINNERS:

  1. At the end of the voting period, up to 5 entry nominations with the highest number of votes will be the winning playgrounds and the playground will be rewarded with a grant from Fruit Shoot of up to £15,000. The above is under the condition that the entrant who nominated the playground has provided any necessary information/documentation requested during Stage 2 of the judging process (see clause 17) and that the local authority has given permission for the renovation to take place.
  2. Winning entrants will be notified via the telephone number and/or email address used to enter the promotion.
  3. All reasonable effort will be made to contact the winning entrants. However, if an entrant cannot be contacted by the 2nd May 2011, an alternative playground may be selected. The alternative winning playground will be the playground which received the next highest number of votes and this playground will be rewarded with a grant from Fruit Shoot of up to £15,000.
  4. The winning entrant will not receive any money but will have helped to obtain a grant donated to the play area owners they nominated from Fruit Shoot of up to £15,000. A separate agreement will be signed between the playground owners and Fruit Shoot to confirm the playground renovations agreement.
  5. The winning entrant will be notified before the winning playgrounds are publicly announced and the playground’s owner will be issued with a written agreement they will be required to sign before the announcement.
  6. The written agreement issued will detail obligations of the Promoter and the owner of the playground and will include details of the service and grant of up to £15,000 issued by Fruit Shoot. The winning entrant will also be required to sign a written agreement detailing the PR obligations outlined in these terms and conditions.
  7. PR press activity will take place at a number of points through the playground developments, this will include:
    1. When the short-listed entrants are announced and during the voting period
    2. When the winning playgrounds are announced
    3. When the playgrounds are unveiled to local community and media
    4. Winning entrants may also be asked to blog or upload video diaries to update on how playground developments are progressing
  8. The dates when the renovations will take place and the time frame will be included in the written agreement with the owner of the playground. The playground will be complete sometime between the end of July and the beginning of September, weather permitting. Specific dates will be dictated by the timeframe of the consultation process, planning permission and renovation works. Winning entrants will need to be available for the renovated playground unveiling/launch and so that they can be included in photography that will be sent to media and be willing to be interviewed by press.
  9. Should a winning entrant or the playground owner be unwilling or unable to provide all necessary information/documentation requested by the Promoters within the time period specified by the Promoters, an alternative winner will be selected. Equally, should a winning entrant or the playground owner be unwilling or unable to sign the written agreement within the time period specified by the Promoters, an alternative winner will be selected. In either of these cases, the alternative winning playground will be the short-listed nomination which received the next highest number of votes during Stage 2 of the judging process and the playground will become the new winning play area.
  10. Winners will not be announced until such time as all necessary information/documentation relating to each playground has been provided and written agreements have been signed with each playground land owner.
  11. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw winning status at any time and select an alternative winner, should it be deemed that the existing winner is unsuitable to represent the Britvic or Fruit Shoot brands in any way.
  12. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw this promotion or change the criteria by which the nominated playgrounds are chosen in the case of any unforeseen circumstances.
