Ready for Ten writer Littlemummy was on the scene at St Margaret's Park in Edinburgh as it re-opened after receiving a £15,000 grant for new equipment.

If I was thrilled to hear that two of the parks to win a £15,000 renovation bursary were in Scotland, I was positively ecstatic when I learned that one of them was St Margaret's Park in Corstorphine, Edinburgh. St Margaret's is just a stone's throw from where I used to live. It's set in a large green area within Corstorphine Village where the community's annual gala day is held.
The day of the re-opening was what a Scot might call 'driech' – that's grey and nasty for us honourary and non-Scots. But the lack of sunshine didn't stop the children enjoying their new playground equipment which included a lime green swing set and tyre style swing.
St Margaret's children were clearly happy with their new park, spraying their bottles of Robinsons Fruit Shoot as if it were champagne!
Local resident Angie Dickson lead the campaign and rallied other local parents to vote, here's what she had to say on the day:
Parent for Playgrounds has seen five play parks around Britain recieve £15,000 renovation bursaries. Entire communities have pitched in to help carry out extensive renovations that have included new equipment, fresh paint, resurfacing and gardening. St Margaret's was one of two parks in Scotland to have won – the other is Cockshaugh Park which is further north in St Andrews.
Well done to everyone who got behind the campaign and special thanks to Angie for all her hard work.

How fantastic for the community to have a wonderful new play area for their children! I can see it will be much appreciated and very well loved.
