This simple craft project yields a unique canvas to hang on the wall... and a sweet, personal Christmas gift for parents and grandparents.
Quite often the only way we mark how big our children are growing, apart from lines on the back of the kitchen door, is by muttering about the expense when they complain their school shoes no longer fit after six weeks.
But no more! Create this funky hand art and you'll always have something to remember how small they once were - as well as a piece of unique art.
You will need:
- Canvas
- Paint (if you want to paint it a different colour. I used the same emulsion that's on our living room wall)
- Pencil, scissors and glue
- Pretty or unusual wrapping paper – Christmas paper gives the project a nice festive feel
- Varnish (optional but will help protect your masterpiece)
Let me know if you have any questions, I hope you enjoy the video.

Brilliant again Debs. Love the idea of using canvas. We haven't tried that before. Again, I am admiring your nail varnish!
